A man from far north Queensland has been charged with drink driving after being caught allegedly more than two times over the limit in a golf buggy.

The 43-year-old man was driving along Mill Street in Babinda, south of Cairns, when he was stopped by police and breath tested.
The man allegedly returned a reading of 0.126: the legal blood alcohol limit is 0.05 per cent. A police spokesman said the blood alcohol limit applied to all vehicles.
The man was charged with drink driving, and as the golf buggy was neither registered nor insured he was also charged with driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
The man is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
