Mr Telford first appeared in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on a charge of intimidation against a witness, on January 30, 2017.
The witness was facing drug charges at the time. Mr Telford is alleged to have called the witness a “dog”.
Joining the courtroom via telephone on Wednesday, Telford’s lawyer Mr Cranny said there is ‘every chance’ they will be bringing an application to cross-examine witnesses, including 28-year-old Chloe Misty-Joy Oliver.
Ms Oliver was charged with trafficking and supplying dangerous drugs, which is likely to be resolved in the Supreme Court in the next few months, Mr Cranny said.
“At the risk of asking for further adjournment, if it could be mentioned again in a couple of months’ time, these drug matters would then be resolved,” Mr Cranny said.
“We will try to proceed as quickly as possible, but this adjournment allows us the best chance of getting clear air for this matter.”
