The couple will wed in a private ceremony in Brisbane on Saturday, September 2. The honeymoon will be delayed, as Katter returns to Queensland Parliament for a sitting on Tuesday, September 5.
Ms Hatfield met Katter when she was on assignment in 2015, working for WIN News in Townsville.
Katter spoke with Fairfax Media this week about Mount Isa being a loved up city, despite there being 129.5 males for every 100 females.
"People say they're going to Mount Isa for two to three years for money, and 'I left 20 years later, married with kids'. It's kind of a joke around town," he said.
In 2015 Katter experienced social media as matchmaker when Twitter fans adopted the hashtag #catchakatter to find him a wife.
These two lovebirds are firmly grounded in Mount Isa, and share a house in Breakaway with two English pointers, Jon-Bon and Ruby.
Congratulations, Katters!
