The happy man’s entry was one of 12 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 3769 on Saturday 2 September 2017, including four from New South Wales, four from Queensland, three from Victoria and one from Western Australia.
Speaking to a Golden Casket official this morning to confirm his prize, the delighted dad couldn’t contain his excitement.
“Woohoo!” the winning dad exclaimed.
“I’m over the moon!
“I got the entry as a Father’s Day present and I checked it online yesterday – it’s unreal!
“There’s was a moment there where I thought it was wrong or I was reading the wrong numbers.
“It’s the best Father’s Day present ever!”
The new millionaire, who wishes to remain anonymous, said the win would help set his family up for the future.
“It’s going straight in the bank and will sit it there so we can live off the interest!” he said.
The winning 12-game QuickPick from Hughenden Agency & OfficeSmart, 49 Brodie Street, Hughenden.
In addition to selling the division one winning entry, Hughenden Agency & OfficeSmart also sold a division two winning entry worth $10,058.75 in the same draw.
Hughenden Agency & OfficeSmart owner, Rosemary Sealy, said the outlet and the town were celebrating the division one and division two wins!
“We feel very privileged! It’s very exciting – not just a division one but a division two as well.
“It’s the second time we’ve sold a division one winning entry – the last time was in 2011. It’s great to see the wins land in town and great to have good news.
“This is a much-needed win for such a small community doing it hard with the drought and other things. The locals are always positive and this is a big event for the town!”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto Superdraw 3769 on Saturday September 2 were 21, 22, 23, 16, 17 and 44 while the supplementary numbers were 30 and 2.
Last financial year, there were 275 division one winning Saturday Gold Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $283 million.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 287 so far this calendar year, including 75 won by Golden Casket customers.
