Men’s and women’s teams competed on Wednesday night, and mixed teams compete Friday, September 8 from 6.15pm.
Association President, Kim Coghlan, said Wednesday’s A-grade men’s game was particularly fun to watch.
“The men’s game went overtime, and was the most exciting. It was a 6 – 5 victory in a drop off, a great game to watch,” Coghlan said.
“We had double the people through the gate to watch the grand finals, which was excellent.”
The experienced Lions won by one point in a very close game. Redskins player Darcy Ryder won best and fairest, scoring 24 points.
A-grade women’s Pink Panthers defeated Orioles A by 11 – 1, with star player Ashleigh Burke scoring 21 points.
B-grade women’s team Taipans had its first ever grand final game against Maulers Black, who were missing three players lost to Year 11 school camp.
Maulers Black defeated the young Taipans 7 – 0.
Mixed and over 35 masters teams play on Friday night from 6pm.
“The mixed sides bring a lot more people down to touch because we have a lot of families playing, mums, dads, and the kids, playing together,” Coghlan said.
