Sure. They finished fourth, so aren't exactly bolters, but of any of the teams attempting to beat Melbourne, they are the ones that are hardest to get a read on in terms of what they might be able to produce in coming weeks. There is plenty to like about what Brad Arthur and his team are bringing to the table. They play hard, fast, smash the edges and have a rising set of halves that have been a handful for almost every team they have played. Arthur looks a supercoach in the making and has ensured his team has stayed firmly grounded as it rattled the cages of top-eight rivals. Plus, the Eels beat Melbourne the last time they met, a 22-6 win in round 18 at AAMI Park*.

How will Mitchell Moses cope with the pressure of finals football?

Hasn't Moses been a handy buy for the Eels. When he left the Tigers, some of their fans were happy to usher him to the door. Can't tackle, overrated, that sort of chatter. Almost as soon as he pulled on the blue and gold, he rose in stature and produced his best season in the NRL. He and Corey Norman look like they have played together since they were kids and the elusive chemistry has been easier to obtain then Arthur would have dared dream. But ... and there are plenty of buts at this time of year ... finals is another beast. Norman has already admitted the pair need to work on closing out games. Cooper Cronk, on the other hand, seems pretty good at that.

Will Melbourne be able to keep the momentum rolling?

Let's just take an educated guess here and go with a resounding yes. They only lost four games all season. They are one of the shortest-price premiership favourites in history. They have a cavalcade of all-time greats playing in key positions. All of that would suggest they aren't about to wet their pants simply because the finals have started. If anything, the Storm are the one team in the eight you can count on to ramp things up when September comes around. They will be intense, execute all night long and punish teams relentlessly for any errors. It's up to the Eels to somehow throw a spanner into a finely tuned engine.

What's the best way to disrupt the Storm machine?

Early points. Chancing your arm (without making mistakes). Maybe hope they get food poisoning the night before. Hey, if we knew the answer to this we'd be coaching an NRL team. Probably not the Titans. Maybe Souths, with GI coming back, Dane Gagai on the way ... where were we? Oh yeah ... anyway, look, teams have tried and failed just about everything against Melbourne, who are essentially bulletproof once they get rolling. They can soak up pressure, slow down bigger packs, cover side-to-side shifts. Eels fans need to hope Arthur has something up his sleeve.

Can anyone beat Melbourne?

Probably not. But Parramatta seem to be as good a chance as anyone. It should at least be highly entertaining.
