Due to the wild winds of the last few days and the restrictions on prepping the grounds for the event and potential safety risk, Mount Isa Fringe Festival organisers have moved the event from Buchanan Park to the Civic Centre.

“Although it looks like the wind is dying down, it won’t be calm enough to continue setting with the time we need to finalise the festival audio/ lighting/ big screen and decorations,” organiser Bec Dent said.
“There is also still a possibility of large gusts affecting how everyone will feel about going outside & also potentially cause a risk to health and safety and damage to our equipment.”
The only act not moving to the Civic Centre is Ms Ruby’s Cardboard maze which will be operational Friday 1-5pm and Saturday 10am-3pm free to the public and held at Buchanan Park Entertainment Centre.
All the other acts on Friday and Saturday will be at the Civic Centre including the local acts talent show at 7pm on Friday and Opera Queensland on Saturday.
Doors open 4pm both days. Tickets at box office.
