Having already lodged a writ in February in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, Jim Marinis, based in Melbourne but of the Perth-based Sports Marketing Agency, has told Fairfax Media he is preparing to push ahead for the case to be heard in court.

Ahead of next month's trade and draft period, Marinis has intensified his aim at the players association, former general manager of player relations Ian Prendergast, who is now with rugby league, and Braden Stokes, who remains in player relations with the AFLPA.

It has also emerged he is preparing to lodge a case against a senior AFL executive but he would not elaborate on this.

Marinis is seeking to smash what he has claimed is a "virtual monopoly" several agents have on the player industry.

"I am looking forward to establishing new reforms with how the player agents conduct themselves and manage players. I look forward to making certain individuals accountable in the AFLPA and other parts of the industry," Marinis said on Monday.

An AFLPA spokesman said the association denied Marinis' claims.

"We are entirely comfortable with our conduct and that of our staff and refute any suggestion that their conduct was in any way inappropriate or unlawful. Nothing contained in the claim has caused us to resile from that position," he said.

"Given the matter is currently before the Court in Western Australia, we will not be making any further comment at this point."

Marinis had also managed former Collingwood defender Alan Toovey. His trouble began in 2011 when Prendergast wrote to 17 clubs encouraging them not to deal with Marinis - he wasn't officially accredited - and for the alleged manner in which he was treated after his failed 2012 agents exam, including alleged comments made about him to prospective draftees and TAC club regional managers.

Marinis maintains he passed the required 75 per cent pass mark. He wants his accreditation to be granted but is understood to not be interested in mediation to deal with this.

If agents are unaccredited, they technically cannot broker player contracts but have generally been allowed to do the leg-work but not sign the final document. Marinis has said two of his colleagues, lawyers Tim Galic and Gavin Jahn, were accredited. Galic will represent Marinis if the case goes to court.

It's been alleged several leading AFL players SMA had on its books were encouraged to sign elsewhere, leaving the company with only two who remained loyal.

It's been alleged that Prendergast told players that Marinis was unaccredited and they should seek new management, prompting Marinis to claim Prendergast was guilty of misleading or deceptive allegations.

Marinis is also set to take aim at regional managers of TAC clubs and says he has evidence of two claiming they had been told he was unaccredited and shouldn't be welcomed. It's been alleged one prospective TAC Cup player was told he would not be considered for selection if he signed with Marinis.

Marinis has also claimed Stokes rejected an opportunity to review Marinis' examination paper with him. He has claimed Stokes and Prendergast had an intense, even malicious, dislike of him.

Prendergast left the AFLPA in November 2015 to become the chief executive of the Rugby League Players Association. It's understood he has denied Marinis' claims. He did not wish to comment when contacted on Monday.

The eight-man AFL agent accreditation board comprises Brett Murphy, the AFLPA general manager of player relations, experienced agents Tom Petroro and Peter Lenton, Braham Dabscheck, a senior fellow at the University of Melbourne, Ken Wood, the AFL's salary cap chief, Melbourne footballer Tom McDonald, Michael Hazell, from M+K Lawyers, and John Hook, from AFL Victoria.
