Branches of the tree landed around cars parked in the front parking at the tourist centre. They received several scratches but there was no damage to paint.
Outback at Isa’s tourism manager Kylie Rixon said she was on a teleconference call last Friday at about 9.30am when she heard the tree fall. “Nobody was injured and there was no damage.
“The council acted immediately and arrived straight away. They came straight away and we got our crew clearing it while the council was using the chainsaw.”
Director of engineering services Emilio Cianetti said that council staff removed at least three fallen trees blown by wind last Friday, including the tree at Outback at Isa.
