On September 13, Police from Mount Isa travelled to Alpurrurulam, NT (Lake Nash) to discuss cultural barriers and expectations visiting Mount Isa. A-Sgt Jim Einam spoke about cultural respect and the differences in cultural expectations and accepted behaviours while visiting Mount Isa for sporting events. It stemmed from offences in anti social behaviour and excessive consumption of intoxicating liquor. Locals have invited Mount Isa Police to arrange an AFL game against Mount Isa in Alpurrurulam.
