Jodica Roos won the competition by losing 13.7 kilograms in five weeks – the time set by the Los Angeles based Paige Hathaway.
“I was 82.8 kgs when I started and 69.1 kgs on the last day,” Ms Roos said.
“Losing 13.7 kgs in five weeks is one of the best achievements I have ever made, it definitely gave me my confidence back.”
The competition required online votes of support for entrants while following the program set by Paige Hathaway.
“From day one of the challenge I put absolutely 100 per cent into it,” she said.
“Paige makes a program to suit the individuals lifestyle. I followed everything to a ‘tee’.
“I did not give into temptation. I trained every day and really focused.”
Ms Roos prepared her meals several days in advance to help eat better.
She cut sugars and reduced carbs and fats in her diet while also increasing the protein. This was the main part in reducing her weight.
“My workout routine would consist of one hour cardio every morning and one hour weight session in the evening,” Ms Roos said.
In the final days of the competition Ms Roos was confident she would do well in the competition and believed she might place second.
“I was pretty amazed when I made top 10 and I could not believe it when I saw all the people voting for me, then I had won.
“I screamed my house down with excitement,” Ms Roos said.
“Who would have thought a girl from little ol’ Mount Isa would win?”
Ms Roos said she entered the challenge because she was seeing the results her clients were getting. “I thought I could do this,” she said.
“I just needed the extra motivation to do something again.”
She has won $5000 from the competition. It has also improved her health and motivated her to return to training every day.
Ms Roos’ hobby is cake making. She said it distracted her a little from the health and fitness industry.
She aims to continue her healthier lifestyle. “No looking back now,” she said.
