These fires included several in the riverbed and out at Lake Moondarra, and the Mount Isa Mines fire.
There was also a fire along the Barkly Highway 30 kilometres west of Cloncurry last Thursday.
First officer Gaven Bunker said the efforts from rural and urban firefighters during this time had been excellent.
There had been difficulty getting rural trucks during business hours.
“It’s long hours and we’re working very closely with each other as well,” he said.
Environmental and weather conditions had made firefighting difficult. Access to some fires had been a challenge as well.
Mr Bunker encouraged residents to keep their backyards clear and to keep their grass short to reduce hazards.
“Keep things tidy and cleaning gutters now coming into the storm season as well. Embers go into gutters,” he said.
