From the roundabout on Rodeo Drive to the Grace Street Bridge, the street will play host to merchants selling all kinds of treasure.
More than 40 stalls will be peddling children’s clothes, handmade crafts, art, fresh flowers, candles, and very importantly, food.
Community volunteer Liz Donkin said she was organising the markets with the support of Commerce North West.
“We started them last year for springtime markets and it went off really well. I just saw the potential and we’ve had a great response since then,” Liz said.
“We didn’t have one in winter because of the rodeo and the Isa Street Festival. Autumn was at the Buff’s Club and our Christmas Night Market was at the Buff’s carpark, so now we’ve come around full circle to spring."
Ms Donkin said there would be plenty of variety of goods to browse through.
“There will be art, craft, clothes, gifts, homewares, coffee and food. What more could you want on a Sunday morning?” Ms Donkin said.
“We’ve also got a children’s corner; Mount Isa Mines have sponsored us to do a jumping castle, face painting and lots of children’s activities,” she said.
Several local groups will be fundraising, including Sikaran Martial Arts Club, Mount Isa Girl Guides, and Paws Hoofs and Claws.
“The local businesses are fundraising by selling their food, and there will be sweet and savoury so we’re going for that Sunday brunch vibe,” Liz said.
It’s about promoting the businesses that are open on Sunday, too.
“There’s a lot on that street who usually open on a Sunday, and some who are opening specially for the markets, like Rockmans who are running market day specials.”
Ms Donkin said she had overwhelming support from small and large businesses to get involved.
“It’s not just me, the whole community chips in and helps out,” she said.
There is a stage, too, with Mount Isa School of Dance performing for the second year in a row.
Also performing will be the three local finalists of Queensland Music Festival’s Songs That Made Me program, Bianca Jae, Cath Purcell, and Lenita Woodsbey.
