MonkeyBaa Productions brought Diary of a Wombat to Mount Isa, complete with a beautiful set and lighting effects, a live cello player, and a beautiful fully grown wombat (puppet) named Mothball.
Mount Isa students from Prep to Year 2 at Mount Isa’s Sunset State School, Townview State School, St Kieran’s School, and St Joseph’s School were in attendance.
Six teachers from Boulia State School accompanied their students on a three and a half hour bus ride to see the show, which the kids loved.
“The little wombat was over here and then it was smaller,” said one excited student.
Diary of a Wombat has an encore tonight at 6pm, and tickets are still available at MIETV or the Civic Centre Box Office on West Street, or by phoning 4747 3300.
