Unless he appeals Walker will not be available until the Geelong Cup meeting on October 25.
The stewards found Walker's mount shifted out at the 500-metre mark of the group one race and caused interference to Azazel ridden by Luke Currie.
Walker argued he had not deviated his line when following Catchy into the race but the stewards charged him with careless riding.
They took into account his guilty plea and recent good record before handing down the penalty, which may force him to miss the lead up ride on VRC Derby hopeful Main Stage at Caulfield next Saturday.
Glen Boss and Dean Yendall were also suspended for 10 meetings for their respective rides on Riven Light in the Caulfield Stakes and Mr Sneaky in the Toorak Handicap.
