Saturday’s play at the Mount Isa Golf Club saw a stroke round take place in conjunction with the monthly medal final.
Thompson carded an impressive 97 off the stick, which ultimately equated to a nett score of 70 with handicap adjustments to comfortably win the Topfire Constructions trophy.
Visiting golfer Jackie McIntosh narrowly missed the top prize with her 71 nett but was rewarded for her efforts with the runner up trophy.
Rebecca Nankivell (72 nett) and Kirra White (73 nett) featured in the ball rundown. Nearest the pins were won by Liz Jakeman (5), Eva Gordon (10) and Rene Thompson (14).
In the mid-week competition, the ladies also competed for the Topfire Construction Monthly medal trophy. Jackie McIntosh claimed this Single Stroke event by carding a 43 nett in the shortened 12-hole event.
Rebecca Nankivell was awarded the runner up trophy with a 45.3 nett while Eva Gordon featured in the ball rundown with 46 nett.
