A huge crowd of around 7000 people attended Mount Isa Irish Club Tony White Oval on Friday to enjoy a record 17 acts from schools across the region including Cloncurry, Richmond, Winton and the School of the Air.

Most schools had been rehearsing since the start of Term 3 but students from the School of Air only got together for the first time a couple of days before the event.

The Apex Club said it was one of the biggest line-ups in the event’s 28 year history.

“Wow, what talent you all have,” the club said on its Facebook page after the event.

“We know all the hard work that went into your acts and without you we have no show so to the Apex members you are all winners.

“To the schools that travelled we thank you for your additional dedication and look forward to seeing all of you again next year.”
