More than $20,000 has been spent upgrading the Goodwill Bridge for the second time after the first surface left cyclists skidding on its pathway.

Cyclists had called for an urgent review of the recently re-opened bridge after they lost traction on the blue surface when it was wet.
Public Works Minister Mick De Brenni asked the department to rectify the slippery issue as soon as possible.
The principal contractor for the project, Southeast Floors, began surface testing of the bridge the next day.
Southeast Floors spokesman Peter Eddy said they conducted rapid wear tests which involved a piece of machinery that scrubbed the floor continuously for 45 minutes to create a more slip-resistant surface.
Sliptest Australia then tested the surface with a British pendulum machine to see how the surface compared to Australian Standards.
Sliptest Australia principal Blair Ording said previously the bridge passed the Australian Standards, but the results looked promising after to bridge was scrubbed, with the point system used to measure the slip resistance indicating the surface had been made less slippery.
On Wednesday Mr De Brenni said the urgent rapid-wear works had increased grip on the newly resurfaced bridge.
"The safety of all users of the Goodwill Bridge is paramount and slip resistance was a key component of the $275,000 resurfacing project carried out throughout August and September," said Mr de Brenni.
"Although independent expert testing revealed the new surface met all relevant Australian Standards, there were some valid concerns over slip resistance in wet conditions.
"It's pleasing to report that we were able to improve on the Australian Standard with the rapid wear works, which were completed over two days and within the original project budget."
Increasing the slip resistance of the bridge surface cost $23,739.
Bicycle Queensland worked with the state government in testing the bridge resurfacing and chief-executive Ben Wilson said the quick remedy to the situation was appreciated.
"We appreciate the initial deck surface treatment work was done to improve the rider and pedestrian experience, so it was disappointing the initial work proved problematic," Mr Wilson said
