A fake village with a pub, post office, bus stop and fast food restaurant will be home to the forefront of Queensland's counter-terrorism training.

The planned $46.7 million counter-terrorism hub will be nestled between The Park mental health facility, the Gailes Golf Course and the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre at Wacol.
It will be part of the 140-hectare master-planned Westgate police complex, which will ultimately include training, specialist and logistics hubs.
The "scenario village" will include a train station platform, houses, pub, post office, fast food outlet, shopping mall, a multi-storey office and retail building, service station, police station, bus stop, mobile caravan village and open parkland, according to the site plan.
Fitouts will include everything from a clothes line to tea towel racks, while a pretend police station includes holding cells, a reception area and interview rooms.
Next to the fake village will be a "simunition" or similuation training building, featuring a "scenario house" for drills, a virtual reality suite, capsicum spray area and briefing rooms.
An observation platform will be built above the scenario house room within the simunition building, presumably so instructors can watch over the exercises.
Nearby, will sit a large rectangular building, containing two indoor firing ranges, which will support annual firearms assessments for police officers and advanced training to deal with "active armed offender" threats.
The new counter-terrorism facility will be co-located with the police driving skills section, to enhance training on the growing issue of vehicle attacks, following tragic terrorism events internationally.
There are also plans for a future childcare centre and tennis courts within the complex, architectural drawings for the site reveal.
Police Minister Mark Ryan said while the national threat level was still "probable", it was integral the Queensland Police Service was equipped with the resources and officers needed to respond to any critical incidents.
"The facility is planned to become a training hub for all officers and other agencies, including the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, Queensland Ambulance Service and Australian Federal Police," he said.
The facility's construction will generate more than 130 jobs and is due to be completed in 2020.
In June, the government announced funding for 30 new counter-terrorism police and 20 frontline officers.
The Queensland government has released a tender for a principal consultant and architect for the project.
