A 21-year-old Mt Gravatt woman died in Princess Alexandra Hospital on Thursday after an accident at Holland Park on Wednesday.

About 7.35pm two vehicles crashed on Cavendish Road outside Cavendish Road State High School.

The woman, who was the driver of one vehicle, had serious head and internal injuries.

An 18-year-old Mansfield man had been driving the other vehicle with a 19-year-old passenger. Neither men were seriously hurt.

A 19-year-old Caboolture woman who was hit by a ute while using a pedestrian crossing at Caboolture on Tuesday died in hospital on Thursday.

The driver of the ute, a 33-year-old Caboolture man, was charged by police after allegedly returning a blood-alcohol limit of 0.114 per cent, more than double the legal limit.

A 70-year-old Windsor man hit by a vehicle while crossing Bowen Street at Windsor on October 4 died in hospital on Thursday.

Early on Thursday morning a 65-year-old New South Wales man died after he lost control of the car he was driving while on the Bruce Highway in central Queensland.

The man had been driving about 15 kilometres from St Lawrence, which is midway between Mackay and Rockhampton.

On Wednesday afternoon a 48-year-old Morayfield woman died in hospital after being critically injured when her car left the road and crashed into a tree at Burpengary.

She had been driving northbound on Lindsay Road near the intersection with Hunt Road when she crashed about 2.20pm.

The latest Queensland government road fatalities data revealed there had been 198 fatalities as a result of crashes within Queensland this year.

That was nine more deaths than at the same time in 2016.
