A new local exhibition featuring art by students in Years 7 – 12 runs until November 20 at the Dr Harvey Sutton Gallery at Cloncurry Library.
Before the opening on Friday night, HOD and art teacher, Helen Chivers, said it was an important annual event for the school.
“I think it is really important to show and display children’s artwork in general,” Ms Chivers said.
“All of these artworks have been produced in the students’ Visual Art subjects throughout the year, culminating in an annual exhibition to celebrate student art work.”
The exhibition used to feature the final work of Year 12 students, before opening to include all levels.
The exhibition features a variety of mediums including mixed media, acrylic, photography, digital artwork, sculptures, lino printing, and print making.
Ms Chivers teaches Years 9 to 12 at Cloncurry State School, while two other teachers take art classes for Years 7 to 9.
Everyone is welcome to access the exhibition through the Dr Harvey Sutton Gallery during library open hours.
