Working alongside editor Derek Barry and journalist Esther MacIntyre, Sam is no stranger to the local community.
Sam established strong roots within Mount Isa, working at The North West Star from December 2015 to January 2017 covering local issues, court reporting, community events and sport.
She then relocated and extended her reach to Cloncurry to work for the North Queensland Register until October 2017, covering rural news for the wider North Queensland region.
Now having vast knowledge and experience in all areas, Sam has returned to Mount Isa to continue her growing journalism career and set foundations for the future.
Recently engaged and a baby on the way, Sam plans to be in the area for the long term.
“I love outback Queensland and the lifestyle I have grown to know here over the last two years,” she said.
“I could not think of a better place to settle down and extend my career as a journalist.
“I look forward to continuing my work with locals from across the north west and deliver news affecting our region.”
