The company told the ASX last week they had intersected strong copper mineralisation in inaugural drilling into the 4km long “Jericho” target at Eloise.
Minotaur have intersected multiple copper sulphide zones in first two of four holes testing three electromagnetic anomalies.
The second hole intersected copper sulphide rich mineralisation at each of the western and central zones, they told the ASX, while the the central zone comprises massive and semi-massive copper sulphides in two horizons up to 7.2m wide.
Jericho consists of multi-plate conductive zones up to 4km in length situated near weak magnetic features now known to be structurally-controlled pyrrhotite.
Minotaur Managing Director Andrew Woskett said the visible copper mineralisation in multiple places at Jericho marked a significant development in the targeting of copper prospects in the Eloise area.
“Jericho’s multiple conductors show strike extent of up to 4km and depth potential ranging up to 700m, and from just 100m below surface,” Mr Woskett said.
“Assay results, when received in the next 2-3 weeks, will clarify the quality of the intersections.”
He said in the meantime, the Eloise JV would act on these highly encouraging results.
“New DHEM (Down Hole Electromagnetic) data will inform the placement of additional holes to probe Jericho’s continuity,” he said.
A second drill rig has been mobilised to test Arlington and St Louis while drilling continues at Jericho where 3-4 extra holes have been endorsed.”
The Eloise tenements, situated 55km south-east of Cloncurry, are subject to a farm-in joint venture between Minotaur and OZ Minerals Ltd.
The Eloise JV is seeking Eloise-style copper-gold and Cannington-style silver-lead-zinc mineralisation, with both styles evident in the area.
