The Good Shepherd Catholic College celebrated its academic achievements for the year at its awards nights at the Mount Isa Civic Centre on Wednesday night.

Principal Peter Scott praised the students for their work during the year and there was also an address from Townsville Catholic Education’s director of teaching, Ernie Christie.
Adam Moes was named college dux for 2017 while Maria Feliciano took out the Christ Our Light award given to a Year 12 student who has a personal and a community commitment to the school’s motto “Christ our Light”.
There was also performances from two of their Rock Pop Mime acts and from the senior vocal ensemble, the the college string ensemble, the Catholic Schools Excellence band and a duet by Ariane Ventura and Maria Feliciano.
