Cavs batted first and made 4/158, the foundation for their innings was a good start by the openers.
Sam Peters compiled a solid half century being being caught out off the bowling of Melwin for 57.
Alex Cleary also chipped in with 21 while coming in at number 3, J. Naylor made 29.
Best of the bowlers was Melwin with figures of 2/19 while Pradip took 1/13.
In reply the Challengers opener Dominic compiled 37 runs but they lost too many wickets steadily to seriously challenge the Cavs total.
Down the order Zaheer made 37 and Faisal 21 but the Challengers fell short by 20 runs making 8/138.
Best of the bowlers were J. Mayler with figures of 3/19 and SamPeters completing an all round man of the match performance with 2/22.
In the afternoon, the top two sides Blackstars and Townview did battle at Sunset Oval with Black Stars prevailing in some comfort.
Townview won the toss and went into bat.
Opener Cody Tully belted out 54 runs and he was ably supported by Adam Moes who scored 40 runs.
C. Jones chipped in with 22.
Townview ended their 20 overs with 4/131 on the board.
Alister Baker was best bowler with 2/24.
In reply dangerman Andy Cullis could not be winkled out in the entire inning but was contained with a lot of dot balls, ending the day on 23 not out.
Ben Spooner led the way with the bat with 45 runs and Cam Conlon wasn’t far behind ending up 42 not out.
The Black Stars lost only two wickets all day, and overhauled the Townview total in the 13th over.
Best bowlers were Cody Tully 1/42 and Dale Roberts 1/29.
