The day saw about 500 parents and children through the doors discovering all Mount Isa’s children stores, schools and exhibitors.
Commerce North West board member and event organiser, Cathy Bimrose, said the attendance numbers were on par with last year’s Baby and Toddler Expo.
“Changing the age range of the event attracted a great crowd this year,” Ms Bimrose said.
“But this year we had about 30 exhibitors, which was an increase on last year’s event. Hopefully next year more businesses and people will jump on board and allow this event to grow.”
Ms Bimrose said it was a fantastic and busy day with plenty of positive feedback from the community and exhibitors.
“Most people told me it was a great opportunity for schools and daycare facilities to get out in the community and show off what they have to offer,” she said.
“A lot of exhibitors were grateful for the opportunity.”
The Kids Expo also heard from guest speakers including Queensland Police Service on cyber safety and HJC Bicycles on correct bike safety and helmet fitting.
