Police have released the idenity of the traffic controller who was hit and killed after a car crashed through roadworks on the southbound lanes of the Bruce Highway early Tuesday morning.

Ken Altoft, 56, died at the scene after being hit about midnight on the stretch of motorway between Forest Glen and the Sunshine Coast Motorway.
The car rolled into the ditch in the middle of the highway and the 47-year-old male driver was found by police about 400 metres down the road.
Police said he was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment of head injuries and was assisting police.
Mr Altoft was a Sunshine Coast local as well as a keen cyclist, motorbike rider and golfer. Tributes flowed on social media.
"In a tragic work accident the club lost a much respected and fantastic member," the Maroochy River Golf Club wrote.
"His smile and friendship will be missed by the members, his friends and the team here at Maroochy River Golf Club."
The Too Moo 220 cycling event, from Toowoomba to Mooloolaba, also posted a tribute to Mr Altoft.
"Last night we lost a very dear friend and original TOOMOOer," the post read.
"On behalf of the TOOMOO family I wish to pass on our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to Sharon and the extended family.
"Ken was one of the most positive people I have had the pleasure to call a friend, he will always have a place in our hearts."
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
