That brings the Queen Elizabeth Stakes up to a $400,000 prize in the Qewy case, the same prizemoney that fourth position gets in the Melbourne Cup.

WATERHOUSE'S STELLAR SPRING

Two days after winning her first VRC Oaks, Gai Waterhouse is set to pick up another valuable two-year-old race this spring.

The Waterhouse-Stephen Baster combination has been right at the forefront this spring and they must be respected with their debut youngster, Northern Voyage, in the Maribyrnong Plate over 1000 metres.

The Maribyrnong Plate was formerly run over 1200 metres but has been reduced because of the lack of two-year-old numbers that can handle the extra distance.

Northern Voyage, a half sister to the group 1-winning mare Sacred Choice, is likely to have plenty of early speed.
