Families were welcomed into Injilinji Community Kindergarten on Saturday, November 4, for an Open Day before the kindergarten’s 2018 intake.

It was also a chance to thank local businesses, Council, and community members that have helped the kindergarten in some way.
MP Robbie Katter, Kim Coughlan, and Jemma Schweikert from Mount Isa Mines were in attendance, while Jasmin Roberts from Sing&Grow led the children in some songs.
Injilinji committee members acknowledged businesses and community members who had contributed to the kindy throughout the year, by presenting them with a certificate of appreciation and artwork by the children.
Hart concreting was thanked for its assistance with the sandpit upgrade and laying of the cement for the watercourse.
MP Robbie Katter, Bob Katter and electorate staff Kim Coughlan were thanked for their ongoing advice and support.
Glencore Mount Isa Mines was thanked for providing a community grant to install an art storage cupboard in the kindergarten, and replace bathroom tiles.
Ultimate Kitchens were acknowledged for their installation of the art storage cupboard.
Mount Isa City Council was thanked for providing a grant to upgrade sandpit walls and create an outdoor watercourse.
Steelcon was thanked for supplying new sand for the sandpit, and Boral for supplying further concrete for the sandpit and watercourse.
Morning activities on November 4 started indoors at the table, making pasta necklaces, playing with play dough, and colouring.
Children were free to explore the outdoor play area before returning inside to enjoy a Sing&Grow session.
