The new year’s eve rodeo has been a successful addition to the Mount Isa social scene with good crowds attending in recent years as those who have not gone away seek some holiday entertainment.
The Mount Isa Rodeo Series Finals commences at Buchanan Park at 6pm on Sunday, December 31 and there will be a full line-up of rodeo events right up to the fireworks to see in the new year at midnight.
There are four junior events and nine senior events on the card and RSA membership is required for competitors. There will also be a live band.
The Camooweal Rodeo is also coming up, and it is on Saturday November 25 from 2-5pm.
It is free entry to the public with nominations on the day and RSA day membership available.
There is practice at 11am at the grounds.
