“Nook means small space, obviously. The original concept was takeaway coffee without having to wait half an hour because it’s attached to a cafe,” barista Anna Cubis says.
“It’s quick, simple, amazing coffee, hot or cold, grab a biscuit if you need.”
The Nook has relocated from Miles Street where it sat inside popular home ware store, Bella Duck, for the last 18 months.
Anna said the move was more of a happy development than an inconvenience.
“It was a good opportunity to grow and make things bigger,” Anna said.
“I’ve got my regular customers that are still coming in. And the pharmacy girls let people know that I’m here.”
Coffee has been in the family for more than 20 years, Anna said, and her brother also runs coffee carts on the coast.
Her personal favourite cuppa is a long black, but she has one exception.
“When I feel like I need a bit of a pick-me-up amazing feeling, I get what’s called a Warm and Fuzzy – it’s a chai latte with a shot of coffee, also known as a Dirty Chai,” she said.
“My chai comes from Melbourne and it’s all natural, handmade, sticky, and delicious."
Pharmacy First feels like the perfect place for this takeaway joint, an energy boost as easy as picking up a your script.
Caffeine Nook boasts a fine selection of milk alternatives for the dietary difficult, and her loyal customers no doubt appreciate the choice.
Open seven days a week, from 8am – 2pm Monday to Saturday and 9am – 2pm on Sundays.
