A broad area of slow-moving low pressure is developing over the northern interior of Australia and that means only one thing: rain is likely in North West Queensland.

The Bureau of Meteorology said the low pressure band would lead to tropical moisture extending through much of northern, central and western Queensland over the next few days.
For the Mount Isa district that means an 80% chance of rain later in the day on Tuesday.
There is even a chance of a thunderstorm today, possibly severe with a forecast top temperature of 37 degrees.
Similar conditions are expected on Wednesday with another cloudy day, a high (80%) chance of showers. and again the chance of a thunderstorm, possibly severe.
The chance of showers is still high on Thursday but drops slightly to 70% and then down to 60% on Friday.
The chance of rain today in the Gulf forecast region is even higher at 90% with thunderstorms also possible.
The largest fall in Mount Isa in November so far was Thursday, November 16 with 20.6mm for a monthly total of 22.0 to date.
