Mount Isa campdraft secretary Rowena Murphy said it was an excellent day assisted by the kind donation of cattle for the event.
“Peter Hacon from Granada Station, a past president of the campdraft, kindly donated the cattle for the day,” Ms Murphy said.
“A lot of people would like to try the sport but don’t have access to working cattle so this was a free and excellent opportunity to give it a go.”

Ms Murphy said next year they hoped to organise regular come and try days once a month to get people involved in the sport.
“It’s getting a bit hot now so we’ll stop for the rest of the year but we’ll resume again in February with a workshop,” she said.
The Association thanked all that helped out, got involved and had a go on the day. They also elected a new committee: president: John Murphy, vice president Jim Hagan, Secretary Rowena Murphy, Campdraft secretary Tamara Nowlan and treasurer Leeusha Green.
