Based on the Disney classic Aladdin, Arabian Nights takes audiences on a journey to the fabled city of Agarabah; a mystical place where a penniless nobody can become a noble somebody, there’s a genie inside every jar and danger lurks around the next corner.

Mount Isa School of Dance Principal, Leanne Ryder, said Arabian Nights promised to be a bright and exciting theatre spectacle, with an important message all audiences can relate to.

“Arabian Nights is an uplifting story about being true to who you are, and overcoming enormous odds with the help of good friends, and a couple of cheeky wishes,” Ms Ryder said.

“The production is full of energetic dance numbers, breathtaking costumes, comedy, magical special effects, and all your favourite songs from the hit movie.

“Our students, teachers, and volunteers have worked incredibly hard on the show and we can’t wait to share Arabian Nights with the Mount Isa community.”

Staring Brooke Troxell, 14, as Aladdin, a humble ‘street rat’ with a heart of gold; Hannah Pullman, 16, as the larger-than-life Genie; Kate Troxell, 16, as Jasmine, a princess would give up her crown for true love, and an impressive supporting cast of magic carpets, exotic animals and quirky characters, Arabian Nights promises a night of fun for all the family.

Mount Isa School of Dance’s Arabian Nights starts at 7pm tonight, Friday 24 November, with a second and final performance at 7pm on Saturday 25 November.
