We’ll keep the live blog going another little while but we’ve put our analysis piece up here.
UPDATE 7.20pm
Robbie Katter has comfortably won the seat of Traeger.
With 10 booths counted including a mix of Mount Isa and rural booths, Mr Katter is sitting on a whopping 60.74% of the vote. ALP’s Danielle Slade who has run a good campaign is sitting on 18.2%. The LNP’s Ron Bird is currently fourth but Sarah Isaacs’s current third position is boosted by her high vote on her home island of Mornington Island already counted.
The KAP’s Shane Knuth is also on track to win the new seat of Hill with 41% of the vote with 21% counted. The ALP and the LNP are both well back on 24% and have preferenced Mr Knuth ahead of each other.
EARLIER:
The polls have closed for the day and Queenslanders have made up their minds.
But what have they decided? Strap yourself in as we watch how the night unfolds on the North West Star bloggery thing below. It’s our first time using so pay no attention if we swear (but no swearing from you, mind).
From about 6.30pm Saturday onwards we’ll be here giving out snippets of info you can chew on with your dinner.
We’ll obviously focus on our region especially the seat of Traeger. But we have a fair idea what is going to happen there, and fairly early in the piece.
What happens in the rest of Queensland affects Traeger and that may take a little longer to unravel.
Follow our live blog as the drama unfolds.
In the meantime revisit everything you needed to know about Traeger but were too afraid, or forgot, to ask.
