One Nation polled strongly, particularly in regional areas, with a projected primary vote of 13.8 per cent, but state party leader Steve Dickson lost the party's sole seat of Buderim and suggestions the party's haul of seats could reach double figures seemed wildly optimistic.
Former One Nation senator and self-proclaimed climate change expert Malcolm Roberts was smashed in his attempt to win the seat of Ipswich.
One Nation candidates did will in regional seats such as Thuringowa, Callide and especially Mirani around Mackay where they are challenging sitting Labor MP Jim Pearce.
But they are not favoured to win any of them.
Federal Senator Pauline Hanson was refusing to accept the reality of no representation.
"I think we will win some seats, there's no doubt about that," she said.
She spent the last day of election attacking Labor for “grubby tactics” and complaining her Callide candidate Sharon Lohse had her corflutes vandalised.
Two independents are in strong positions to be elected: Margaret Stelow in Rockhampton and Sandy Bolton in Noosa.
