Police charge second person in generator theft

Cloncurry Major and Organised Crime Detectives have charged a second person with the theft of a generator that was stolen from the Lady Jenny Minesite, near Fountain Springs in September.

The 18-year-old Cloncurry man was also charged with stealing 800-litres of diesel from the same mine site during that month.

The man will appear in the Cloncurry Magistrates Court on January 18, 2018.

On Friday November 17, detectives from the Cloncurry Major and Organised Crime Squad Rural seized a stolen generator during a search warrant at a property at Tirranna Springs, near Burketown.

The generator worth a significant amount, was stolen from the Lady Jenny minesite at Fountain Springs in September this year.

Police have charged an 18-year-old Cloncurry man with stealing. 

He is due to appear in the Cloncurry Magistrates Court on December 8.
