Justin Miles said he was at his Forest Lake home with his partner's son when a man knocked on the front door, claiming to be a police officer, about 1pm.

"He started to become quite aggressive, he said ???We are the police, open the door, we have someone coming through the back door as we speak'," Mr Miles told Network Ten.

He said a group of people then charged in, handcuffed Mr Miles to his partner's son and stomped on his head as they ransacked his home.

"The one that was standing on my head, he kept saying he can only keep the other fella calm for so long," he said.

"It really was quite an ordeal at the time, it was terrifying."

The group fled in Mr Miles' Holden SS Commodore, which was later found by police, burnt-out in Logan.

Police confirmed a group had entered the home, claiming to be police, and stolen some personal property.

Mr Miles said he suffered a chipped tooth during the home invasion and was disgusted someone would come into another person's home and steal their belongings.

"It is an invasion of privacy...and then to use violence like that, it is just terrible, it is not a good thing to go through and I don't wish that upon anyone," he said.

Police said investigations were continuing.
