It will be alleged a 27-year-old man was boarding a ferry at Kangaroo Point with a group of people when an argument broke out with a 19-year-old man, who was getting off the ferry with a female.
Police will allege the disagreement happened about 6.15pm at the Thornton Street Terminal and that the two groups were not known to each other.
During the confrontation, the older man was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen by the teenager.
He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to a Queensland Police Service spokesman.
A Nundah teenager has been charged with unlawful wounding and has been scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
