Alexander easily retains Bennelong, and how the LNP saved Labor's Trad in Queensland

Liberal John Alexander defeated Labor's Kristina Keneally in the Bennelong byelection by a 54.2-45.8 margin, a swing to Labor of 5.6 points since the 2016 election. Primary votes were 44.1 per cent Alexander (down 6.3), 36.3 per cent Keneally (up 7.8), 6.9 per cent Greens (down 2.2), 4.5 per cent for the Australian Conservatives, and 3.2 per cent Christian Democrats (down 3.2).
