Fittler has already dubbed Cotric a State of Origin bolter as the Blues brace for a massive shake-up in a bid to fight their way out of the Origin doldrums.

The 19-year-old is Canberra's lone representative in a 38-man squad which will assemble in Sydney in January 13 under Fittler and Blues assistant coach Danny Buderus.

Cotric will also have Blues greats Andrew Johns, Craig Fitzgibbon, Matt King, Mark O'Meley and Anthony Minichiello to learn from as he looks to continue his stunning rise.

"I've brought these players in because they're players I really respect and I believe they can learn a lot from the camp - both on and off the field," Fittler said.

"The majority of these players are young stars already playing first grade, or on their way to the top grade.

"These players will be the backbone of the NSW Origin team going forward. They all have a big future."

Cotric has been named alongside a host of the game's most promising talents including Angus Crichton, Latrell Mitchell, Nathan Cleary, Mitchell Moses and Jayden Brailey.

Cotric won the NRL's rookie of the year gong in his rookie season and has emerged as a shock candidate for representative selection, having already played under Fittler at underage level.

Former Blues coach Daley blooded 10 Origin debutants in the past two seasons and Fittler has made it clear he wouldn't be afraid to make more changes in his first year in charge.

Fittler is prepared to chance his arm and make a raft of changes with the Blues looking to turn around a horror 12-year stretch that has bore just one series win.
