Local kids were introduced to a traditional Aboriginal game called ‘Edor’ at Sunset Park on Tuesday for Gidgee Healing’s Deadly Choices sports day.

Staff from the Mount Isa health service facilitated games and activities in the park from 3 – 5pm, with regular water breaks in the 40 degree heat.
Tobacco counsellor, Lurlene Slater, said the Deadly Choices Sports Day is all about community.
“It’s about bringing the community together, and we like to encourage Indigenous and non Indigenous people to join in and play,” Ms Slater said.
“It’s also another way of keeping the culture strong, through games,” she said.
“It’s more fun using the tags than using a ball , because everyone gets their own little tags.”
