Creek began day two holding a 45-run lead with Wests at 2-50, before Ethan Bartlett (101) led the visitors to 177 and ensured the home side needed 93 runs for victory.

The straightforward chase got off to disastrous start when openers Robert Trickett and Blake Dean were both dismissed for naught to leave Creek 0-2 after three overs.

Josh Myburgh (26) and Mark Bennett (28) steadied the ship as Creek secured the win after 30.3 overs with five wickets in hand.

Queanbeyan won the toss and elected to bat on day one but it was only skipper Michael Spaseski (115) who made the most of a start as the home side finished 9-305.

Nadeem Ahmed (3-55) and Luke Ryan (3-71) were the pick of Ginninderra's bowlers but with several starts and no big scores in the chase, it was Spaseski's knock which proved the difference.

Brad Thomas (45), Balinder Singh Khillan (38), Brendan Roweth (35) and Jordie Misic (31) all failed to convert as Ginninderra struggled to contain Spaseski (3-47) and adn Vele Dukoski (3-71) and finished all out for 253.

"They never got too close and were always behind the eight ball throughout the day but credit to Ginninderra for trying to make a game of it and going for the win, sometimes when they don't do that it ruins the game," Spaseski said.

"We bowled tight lines on a batter-friendly wicket but the outfield was slow going so that helped containing the run rate and luckily we got the wickets."

It marked Spaseski's first ton of the summer but he said it didn't matter who performs, as long somebody steps up each week.

"I haven't been able to train as much as I would have liked to with some health issues, so it's definitely good to be in the runs and gets the confidence up," Spaseski said.

"We've got goals each game which are one of our top five batsmen to score a hundred and then one of top four bowlers get four wickets.

"If we can do that every game we're going to win more than we lose and it doesn't matter who does it because we don't rely on one or two guys, there are no selfish players here."

Eastlake enjoyed a 51-run victory against Tuggeranong after batting first to remain undefeated and in third spot on the ladder.

• ACT duo Akshay Joseph and Blake Faunce both enjoyed stellar weeks at the School Sports Australia under-12 national championships. Joseph topped the championships bowling with 15 wickets, while Faunce was the leading batsman with 204 runs. The ACT won three matches but lost the final against Western Australia.
