The Bureau of Meteorology station at Mount Isa Mines only recorded 0.2 millimetres while locals across town recorded up to five millimetres.
Looking ahead for the rest of the week there is a medium chance of showers.
Tuesday January 16, is expected to see a 50 per cent chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening, with warm and sunny conditions in the morning reaching a top of 40 degrees.
Wednesday is expected to be partly cloudy with a 50 per cent chance of one to 10 millimetres, reaching a top of 33 degrees.
On Thursday the chance of rain drops back to a slight (20 per cent) chance of a shower in the afternoon and a maximum temperature of 36 degrees.
Friday forecasts a medium (40 per cent) chance of a thunderstorm reaching a top of 38 degrees.
While the weekend turns sunny with Saturday expected to reach 39 degrees and Sunday forecast to reach 41.
