Labor took four new taxes to the election and their plan to slug Queensland households with additional taxes has been outed by one of their own.

Our hands were tied in our first term because we made a commitment not to introduce any new charges or taxes,” Mr Madden said.
“I don’t know if they’re tied now.”
If Annastacia Palaszczuk and Labor get their way, Queensland is set to become the tax capital of Australia.
Labor will tax, tax and tax.
Instead of encouraging businesses to take on new employees by lowering payroll tax and encouraging new investment, Labor is hitting them with new taxes.
It is little wonder that businesses are not taking on new employees and job seekers are waiting longer to secure a job.
New figures have shown that on average, job seekers in Outback Queensland are spending 45 weeks looking for a job.
Queenslanders are facing the longest job search wait times in the country with the time taken to find a job more than doubling since Annastacia Palaszczuk became Premier.
It’s a sad indictment on the Palaszczuk Labor Government that it’s taking longer and longer for unemployed Queenslanders to find a job.
Annastacia Palaszczuk needs to set the record straight and tell Queenslanders once and for all if they will be taxed more.
You can’t tax your way to growth – it’s as simple as that.

We need a green and gold flag
Alex De Minaur does us all proud by competing in our national colours.
But those who want to support him by waving the national flag have to use the flag of a British colony.
Back in the days of the republic debate, I was thoroughly told that this was right, proper and even necessary because Australia was the child of Britain.
It didn't matter that we presented ourselves to the world with the flag of a colony -- we were an independent, grown-up country anyway.
Yet those who said this did not practice what they preached. They were all the grown-up children of their parents, but not one of them wore children's clothes in public.
As always, this wilfully immature situation is going to become very, very silly at the Commonwealth Games. When our athletes do well, we will hide our joy and support by pretending that we're not really there.
We'll do our very best to look like either New Zealanders or the employees of some British government authority.
We will not, repeat not, let ourselves be seen as coming from the same country as those who wear our national colours.
It's easy enough to design a good flag in green and gold.
One with a green stripe containing the Southern Cross in gold, then a gold field containing the Federal Star in green, would fill the bill.
After all, if our Army can do it, why can't our country?
