Reece, aged 26, was reported missing on December 15 after he failed to return home to his family’s property in Julatten near the Mossman-Mt Molloy Road.
Police investigations revealed Reece was seen at a Ravenshoe Roadhouse on December 15 riding a black 2012 Bonneyville Triumph motorcycle and then later reports he was seen in Mt Surprise.
Mr Kearney believes Reece was attempting to make his way over to Normanton to see his brother.
However he never made it and his family believe he may have had a crash somewhere along the way.
“We’ve done a search of the area from Georgetown to Croydon by road and now by helicopter as we think he may have had a road accident”, Mr Kearney said.
“There is still a possibility that he’s gone from Normanton to Mount Isa, so I appeal to the people out at the Isa and the three ways in the Northern Territory and Charters Towers, if they see something, please come forward and call crime stoppers or local police.
“We are still hopeful of having a happy ending, we love him very much and we’d like to see him back.
“He’s a good lad, loves his fishing, he’s well liked in the community.”
Both Mr Kearney and police have utilised the services of helicopters to search areas throughout the Tablelands in an effort to locate Reece and his distinctive motorcycle.
Detectives plan to continue searches using available assets in an effort to locate Reece and his motorcycle.
Concerns are held for Reece’s safety.
A general public appeal for information has now been extended to service stations, roadhouses, takeaway food outlets, convenience stores, truckies, four-wheel-drive enthusiasts, Grey Nomads and other holiday makers travelling throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Reece Kearney is a 26-year-old man and is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180 centimetres tall, with brown hair and a slim build.
