The Bunnings team are generously supplying the food and drinks, with all money raised going directly to the volunteer emergency services.
Members of the Mount Isa community are encouraged to attend Bunnings on Saturday in support of our local emergency services. There will be a strong attendance by members from several emergency services across Mount Isa.
A Bunnings spokesperson said they celebrated and thanked the volunteer emergency services for the great work they do within our community.
“We enjoying raising much needed funds for them as all emergency services are a valued part of our community,” Bunnings said.
Mount Isa State Emergency Service Area Controller Gordon Graham thanked Bunnings,
“The Bunnings emergency services BBQ will assist in promoting SES membership and community awareness of the role of the SES in times of an emergency,” Mr Graham said.
“All funds will support the training of staff and assist with the maintenance and purchase of much needed equipment”.
In confirming police attendance at the BBQ, Senior Sergeant Neil King, A/Officer in Charge, Mount Isa Police Station said the SES performed an important function within our community.
“We are always happy to volunteer our time in support of these volunteers who have an important role within our community during an emergency,” Snr Sgt King said.
The barbie is on from 10am-2pm at Bunnings, Camooweal St.
