Gold Coast mother Heidi Strbak, who was convicted of fatally striking her four-year-old son Tyrell Cobb, will not spend extra time in jail after the state's Attorney-General ruled out an appeal.

Tyrell died in May 2009 after two blows to his abdomen caused internal bleeding, leading to peritonitis.
Strbak pleaded guilty to manslaughter in November but denied inflicting the fatal blunt force trauma.
Justice Peter Applegarth found Strbak was the perpetrator of her son's abuse and the 34-year-old was sentenced to nine years' jail, eligible for parole in October 2021.
Following the ruling, Queensland Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to review the case for any legal grounds for appeal.
On Sunday she announced the DPP had advised against appealing.
"I have followed their advice and will not appeal the sentence," she said.
"It's also important to remember that any appeal always comes with the risk that a sentence can be reduced."
Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington said she was "sickened" by the death of Tyrell and accused the government of failing to listen to the community outrage over the sentence.
"Queenslanders expect people convicted of harming our precious kids to be hit with the full force of the law," she said.
"It's time to get serious about crimes against Queensland's most vulnerable."
Justice Applegarth, in handing down the sentence last year, said Strbak's case was "only the tip of an iceberg of child abuse".
