A car and the Kuranda train have collided at a rail crossing in far north Queensland, trapping two people inside the vehicle.

Emergency services were called to the crossing at the intersection of Collins Avenue and McLean Street in Cairns just before 4pm.
A woman and teenage girl inside the car were cut from the wreckage of their vehicle but neither suffered serious injuries, according to police.
None of the 43 passengers and crew onboard the train suffered serious injuries either, police said.
Investigations into the crash were continuing.
