The fully catered one day event is a mental health forum themed “Look After Your Mates” and it aims highlight awareness within the community and dispel the myths associated with the illness.
Steve Carrington from RSL Queensland, who are a major sponsor, said there will be several special guest speakers and two panels to help answer any questions.
“One of the guest speakers is Tony Dell from Stand Tall 4 PTS,” Mr Carrington said.
“Some people will remember him as the Aussie cricketer who put his career on hold to serve in Vietnam.”
Other guest speakers include John Gilmore from the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation and Dr Brenda O’Sullivan.
The panels will discuss what support there is for people living with PTS and where they can access help.
“There are many different pathways but finding the right one for you is of particular importance,” he said.
Mr Carrington said he is excited about the event because all the experts will be at this event.
